Corsair MP600 Pro NH Review: Dethroning the 990 Pro as the Fastest PCIe 4.0 SSD September 1, 2023by Radio Ozodi The MP600 Pro NH scores a stunning victory against Samsung's popular 990 Pro, albeit with a bit of extra heat. Corsair MP600 Pro NH from above. Although PCIe 5.0 SSDs are now coming on the scene, PCIe 4.0 drives are still very important and will continue to be. some of the best SSDs for at least a year. Among PCIe 4.0 SSDs, the Samsung 990 Pro reigned as the fastest SSD (or at least tied for the top with WD's SN850X), and I was pretty sure it would stay that way forever when I reviewed it back in April. However, Corsair's MP600 Pro NH, which launched late last year with a very low ratio, seems to be the true champion, beating the 990 Pro in my testing by just a hair. The MP600 Pro NH is the fastest PCIe 4.0 SSD you can buy, although its high power consumption and resulting heat means you'll definitely need a heatsink. Corsair MP600 PRO NH. However, unlike the 990 Pro, the MP600 Pro NH offers an 8TB option and its 4TB option is available now, while the 4TB 990 Pro is only just coming out as I write this review. But one thing the MP600 Pro NH lacks is a heater, and there is no version that comes with one. Although this is not a problem for desktop motherboards, which almost always come with.
a heater for M.2 SSDs, it means that this drive in a laptop works almost without cooling, and you will understand why this is a mistake a little. How the Corsair MP600 Pro NH was tested Corsair MP600 Pro NH from the front. I put the MP600 Pro NH on the test bench using Asus' ROG Strix B650E-I Gaming motherboard, AMD's Ryzen 9 7900X and 32GB of G.Skill's Flare X5 RAM at 6,000MHz and CL36 I installed it. I installed the MP600 Pro NH under the SSD heatsink on the board because the MP600 Pro NH doesn't come with a heatsink and for best performance, you definitely need to use one. I also tested the 990 Pro again under the same conditions as the MP600 Pro NH. My benchmarks of choice are CrystalDiskMark and ATTO Disk Benchmark, which are basic synthetic tests that can give an accurate idea of how these drives will perform under various workloads. While these metrics do not technically reflect the real world
